Dr. William Tyler Bennett
Dr. William Tyler Bennett was born into an air-force family, in San Antonio Texas. As a military family, they frequently moved around the United States. Growing up, Dr. Bennett had a menagerie of animals ranging from reptiles and sugar gliders, to a goat and a pet crow. Despite his wide range of animal interests, he has always had a particular passion for horses, dogs, and cats. This manifested itself early on in life while attending horse shows with his grandmother and capitalizing on opportunities to play with the farm cats and dogs at her boarding facility. Over time this fascination developed into a professional interest in veterinary anatomy and disease processes. He spent summers working on his grandmother’s Arabian horse farm during middle school and high school, as well as working as a kennel tech during the school year.
Dr. Bennett obtained his B.S. in Avian Biology from The University of Georgia and went on to obtain his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, as part of the class of 2019. After graduation, Dr. Bennett spent one year practicing as an equine veterinarian in central Kentucky working with commercial thoroughbred farms. While in Kentucky, Dr. Bennett availed himself of every opportunity to practice small animal medicine and surgery to maintain this skill set. Dr. Bennett returned to Georgia in July of 2020 and began practicing as a small and mixed animal veterinarian.
During his spare time, Dr. Bennett enjoys fishing, pulling for The Georgia Bulldawgs, and spending time with his wife Gabby, His German Shepherd “Andy”, Pomsky “Penny”, and the boss of the household, “Timothy” the cat.
